TRICARE West Region (HNFS)

On Jan. 1, 2025, the TRICARE West Region contractor changed from Health Net Federal Services, LLC (HNFS) to TriWest Healthcare Alliance, who is now responsible for providing health care to the military community in the TRICARE West Region.

From Jan. 1–March 30, 2025, HNFS’ customer service team can only support claims for services rendered prior to Jan. 1, 2025. Learn more >>

Important: If you recently received a letter from the Defense Health Agency that directed you to call HNFS about your TRICARE enrollment, please note our company name was included in that letter in error. As of Jan. 1, 2025, you must contact TriWest Healthcare Alliance at 1-888-TRIWEST (1-888-874-9378) for all enrollment-related questions.

HNFS recognizes beneficiaries and providers have questions about the changes in the TRICARE West Region. As the outgoing contractor, we have no authority or jurisdiction over TriWest Healthcare Alliance (TriWest). Here are some options available to you to have your voice heard:

West Region States (prior to Jan. 1, 2025)

Prior to Jan. 1, 2025, the TRICARE West Region included the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa (except the Rock Island Arsenal area), Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri (except the St. Louis area), Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas (Amarillo, Lubbock and El Paso areas only), Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
