Authorizations and Referrals

Effective Jan. 1, 2025, Health Net Federal Services, LLC (HNFS) is no longer accepting new referral or pre-authorization requests. 

Please visit www.tricare.mil/west for information on how to submit requests to TriWest Healthcare Alliance, the TRICARE West Region contractor as of Jan. 1.

As of Jan. 1, 2025, please contact TriWest for authorization status, even if the request was submitted to HNFS.

Keep in mind:

• TriWest will accept HNFS-issued referrals and pre-authorizations through their expiration date or June 30, 2025, whichever comes first
• TriWest will accept Autism Care Demonstration referrals and pre-authorizations through the date issued by HNFS

NOTE: As a courtesy, HNFS’ Check Authorization Status tool will remain on www.tricare-west.com through Jan. 31, 2025.
