What Are Risk Factors for CAD?
A risk factor is something that increases your chance of developing a certain disease. You cannot change some risk factors for heart disease, but you can change others.
The five most important risk factors are:
- Tobacco use
- Diabetes
- Family tendancy towards this condition
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
Other problem risk factors include:
- Sedentary lifestyle
- Obesity
- Psychological stress
