How Is Diabetes Diagnosed?
Anyone who has symptoms of diabetes should be tested for the disease. Some people who have risk factors for diabetes should also be tested. Testing allows doctors to find diabetes sooner and helps patients manage symptoms and prevent complications. Testing also allows doctors to find pre-diabetes. Making lifestyle changes to lose weight if you are overweight may help delay or prevent type 2 diabetes.
