Women's Health
Women have unique health concerns specific to the female body, including pregnancy, certain cancers and menopause. Additionally, there are health conditions which are not gender specific but tend to affect women more than men. According to the National Institutes of Health, compared to men, women are more likely to:
- Die from a heart attack.
- Be diagnosed with depression.
- Be affected by osteoporosis.
- Have serious complications, including infertility, from a sexually transmitted disease.
- Suffer from a stroke.
- Have urinary tract problems.
Along with living a healthy lifestyle, women should get routine exams and preventive screenings in order to protect themselves from the conditions listed above.
