Submit a claim
  • If the date of service is before Jan. 1, 2025, submit to HNFS through April 30, 2025
  • If the date of service is on or after Jan. 1, 2025, submit to TriWest
  • Submit to TriWest regardless of date of service beginning May 1, 2025
Check claim status
  • If the date of service is before Jan. 1, 2025, and the claim was submitted to HNFS by April 30, 2025, check with HNFS:
    • By phone through March 30, 2025
    • Online through June 30, 2025
  • If the date of service is before Jan. 1, 2025, and the claim was submitted to TriWest on or after May 1, 2025, check with TriWest 
  • If the date of service is on or after Jan. 1, 2025, check with TriWest
  • Check with TriWest regardless of date of service beginning May 1, 2025
Appeal a denied claim
  • If the date of service is before Jan. 1, 2025, submit to HNFS through April 30, 2025
  • If the date of service is on or after Jan. 1, 2025, submit to TriWest
  • Submit to TriWest regardless of date of service beginning May 1, 2025

Referrals/Authorizations

Submit a referral or authorization request

As of Jan. 1, 2025, submit all requests to TriWest.

Check referral or authorization status
  • As of Jan. 1, 2025, check with TriWest (even if the request was submitted to HNFS)

    • TriWest will accept HNFS-issued referrals and pre-authorizations through their expiration date or June 30, 2025, whichever comes first

    • TriWest will accept Autism Care Demonstration referrals and pre-authorizations through the date issued by HNFS
       
  • NOTE: HNFS’ Check Authorization Status tool will be available through Jan. 31, 2025
Appeal a denied authorization

As of Jan. 1, 2025, submit to TriWest (even if the request was denied by HNFS).
